Department of anatomy
Duration of study of Anatomy in the curriculum of BHMS is
in the first 1 ½ years. Studies comprised of complete study of
human anatomy with the help of dissection of dead bodies.
There is a department library.

Department of Physiology and Bio - Chemistry
The department consists of a seminar / demonstration room,
one laboratory each for physiology and bio-chemistry
practical, a store and two staff rooms.
According to the syllabus and curriculum the teaching of
Physiology and
biochemistry extend for a period of 1 1/2 years, i.e., First
BHMS: The department engages. Lectures, practical, tutorials
and seminars with emphasis in clinical physiology, hematology
and clinical bio-chemistry.
There is a departmental library. |

Department of Pharmacy
The department has a lab, museum, seminar room and staff
room. Pharmacy is taught during the first l 1/2 years of the
BHMS course. |

Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology,
The course of study under this dept extends over a period
of one year during second BHMS
Theory: Acts, legal procedures, forensic medicine, and
toxicology Practical/Demonstration: Specimens of medico-legal
importance.
A forensic museum is attached which comprises of wet
specimens, dry specimens, charts, photographs, weapons,
models, slides, bones-, and poi-sons.
A departmental library is provided with this department.
Students are taken to the Medical College, Calicut to see
post-mortem. A minimum of 10 cases should be recorded.
Internees are also given 2 to 3 days training in the forensic
department. |

Department of pathology and microbiology:
The course of study under this dept extends- over a period
of one year: during IInd BHMS.
The department has two practical labs. .
The teaching of pathology includes, clinical, lectures and
practical classes 8c seminars: There is a departmental
library.
Practical classes consist of clinical pathology,
haematology, cytology and urine analysis. There is histo-Pathological
demonstration of slides.
Internees are posted under this dept for training in clinical
pathology |

Department of, Social and Preventive medicine
The course of study under this dept extends over a period
of two years during III and IV BHMS.
Imparting training in community medicine is given in medical
studies by lectures, practical, demonstration tutorials,
seminars, field studies, OP, peripheral OP's, medical camps
and issue of preventive medicines. The student should be
directed the importance of preventive medicine day to day
health problems in the community and health promotion.
Training of student or internee to prescribe Homoeopathic
medicine for curative purpose and preventive aspect. This dept
has one museum, seminar / demonstration room, and staff room |

Department of Surgery:
The course of study under this dept extends over a period
of two years during II and III BHMS.
The aim of teaching surgery in Homoeopathic Medical colleges
is to enable the students to handle various surgical cases
with the help of Homoeopathic medicines. This is achieved by
study of various surgical diseases, individualisation of the
case and application of well-selected Homoeopathic
medicines to the patients: Running an OF and IP in the
department of surgery. OP service is available to the
public three days in a week. In addition to the classroom
teaching, students and internees are posted in OP and IP
for practical training. Radiology, Physiotherapy and USG
departments functioning under the department of surgery
where facilities are available for taking X-ray and ultra
sonogram with the help of expert technical staff.

Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology:
The course of study under this dept extends over a
period-of two years during II and III BHMS
The department renders OP and IP treatment in various
gynaecological disorders including menstrual complaints,
uterine and ovarian tumours and for complaints during
pregnancy OP services available on 3 days in a week. |

Department of Practice of Medicine
The course of study under this :dept extends over -a
period of three years during II, III and IV BHMS
The Practice of Medicine in Homoeopathy is practice of
Homoeopathic medicine, which incorporates the study of disease and
individualisation, which forms the corner stone of homoeopathic
practice. In addition to class room teaching, seminars,
inpatient and outpatient teaching is also imparted to students
from II BHMS onwards. Internees are also posted for training
in the Department. |

Department of Case Taking and Repertorisation
The course of study under this dept extends over a period
of one year during N BHMS.
1. Case taking
2. Analysis and Evaluation of symptoms
3. History of evolution of repertories
4. Different repertories including card repertory
5. Computer methods of rapertorisation like RADAR, HOMPATH,
HRS etc.
This department enables the students to develop skills in
interrogation and similimum selection. They are also
provided with training in computer application, in
Homoeopathic treatment. |

Department of Organan of Medicine
Curriculum of studies consists of the following topics
extending over the entire period of course.
1. History of medicine
2. Emergence of Homoeopathy and its spread in various
countries.
3. : Principles and rules relating to homoeopathic practice.
4. Homoeopathic philosophy- Explanation an commentary on
principles and practice of Homoeopathic according to various
authors:
5. Organon of Medicine
6. Chronic miasm
7. Psychology
Department has a separate library and a clinical discussion
room, and separate rooms for teaching faculty.
All departments are provided with one computer which are
connected to the main server and one OHP each. A total number
of 5 LCD are also provided for conducting audio visual
classes. A seminar hall with a seating capacity of 200 is
provided with facilities for audio visual presentations. Broad
band connectivity s also provided to enhance the teaching
facility. |
